Forgemaster Miniatures celebrates International Women’s Day
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #EmbraceEquity; an opportunity to address why equal opportunities are no longer enough, and how it’s possible to break free from a world of bias and stereotyping.
Tabletop gaming falls into this stereotype. It is a notoriously male dominated industry, and although the culture has changed over the years and women have slowly started to become part it, there’s still a lot of work to be done. It’s also evident that there’s a clear lack of representation of strong, inspiring female miniatures on the tabletop.
So this year, we want to make our efforts heard even louder.
Today we launch our very own exclusive range of miniatures, Daughters of Él, in celebration of International Women’s Day. We are excited to unveil our first miniature – Jarl Él Jungr, foot and mounted with customisable weapons options of a sword or throwing spear and optional shield.
At Forgemaster Miniatures, we are determined to keep up the momentum of positive representation within the industry, regardless of gender. We want to be a company as diverse and reflective as the communities we live in, so we are committed to bringing this diversity in our very own range of miniatures.
Our new Daughters of Él range doesn’t just feature your scantily clad, boob-armoured women; they are bold, powerful and inspiring shieldmaidens. But that’s not all. They’re also modular, with weapon and head swaps. With hundreds of combinations allowing for an all-female fighting force with no repeat poses.
Even though International Women’s Day brings this subject matter to the forefront – and is an important date to mark and celebrate women – it shouldn’t just be today. We are committing to this long term and will be bringing both diversity and representation across our range of miniatures over the coming months. Watch this space!
